A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to Morrow County regarding vendor payments on September 26, 2024.
We at the Marion-Morrow Times, a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, have requested specific records under the Ohio Open Records Law, §149.43 et seq. The requested information includes a list of all payments made to vendors from January 1, 2024, till September 26, 2024.
The fields we are specifically interested in include the vendor name, transaction date, transaction description, and amount. This information is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities as journalists which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
As members of the media involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals. We eagerly await a response from Morrow County officials regarding this request.
