Departmental Closures Announced Ahead of Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday

City of Marion issued the following announcement on Jan. 10.

Mayor Scott Schertzer is announcing that all offices in Marion City Hall will be closed on Monday, January 17, 2022 in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. 

The following departments for the City of Marion will operate as noted below on Monday, January 17, 2022:

  • Sanitation crews will collect garbage and recycling on Monday, January 17.  Residents who normally have refuse collected on Monday are requested to have their collections at curbside by 7:00 a.m. 
  • Marion Area Transit will be open with bus service available on Monday, January 17, 2022.
  • Marion Senior Center will be open with transportation available on Monday, January 17.

Essential services including fire, police, and airport will operate as usual.
